Farragut’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the Town’s paving contract and plan for resurfacing for 2021 during its regular meeting Thursday, April 22.
Town engineer Darryl Smith reported Town roads and greenways set to be resurfaced include: McFee Road, Glen Abbey Boulevard, Harrison Road and two lengths of greenway: Brixworth adjacent to Sailview and the other at the Cove at Turkey Creek along Parkside Drive.
Smith noted since the original 2021 resurfacing budget was $800,000, he suggested adding Port St. Charles Drive and San Martin Lane to the list. Both streets are located in Glenn Abbey subdivision, and the additional resurfacing brought the contract to $752,161, which was approved by BOMA.
BOMA approved the low bidder for the project, Duracap Asphalt Property Inc., which had submitted a bid of just beyond $672,000 among the four companies bidding.
