Pursuit School of Dance moves to Farragut
“Opening this studio in Farragut has been a dream come true for us,” McAlpine said. “Everything we talked about growing up is now a reality.”
Originally from Pennsylvania, the business partners moved to the Knoxville area a couple of years ago and fell in love with the area.
“We decided to open the school in Farragut because we love how community-focused the Town is,” McAlpine said.
Along with McAlpine and Collins, Brierre Bowling also is an instructor at the family-oriented dance school. “We primarily teach ballet, pointe, tap and jazz,” she said. “We are also adding contemporary and hip hop this fall. We offer classes for ages 3 to adult.”
Pursuit School of Dance initially opened in 2019 in Cedar Bluff. After renting for a couple years, McAlpine and Collins moved their school to Farragut.
She and Collins “both danced in Pennsylvania, where we grew up, and it quickly became our passion,” she said.
“Rebecca and I have always dreamed of one day owning a dance school together.
“I taught ballet and pointe for other studios for five years before opening Pursuit School of Dance in 2019,” she added. “Rebecca taught tap, jazz, contemporary and hip hop for other studios, as well and trained with Ingredients Dance Company in Texas, before moving to Knoxville and becoming a co-owner of Pursuit.
