Praise for moving officer

Unlike other schools in Knoxville and Knox County, Farragut Primary School has enjoyed a positive relationship with its Knox County Sheriff’s Office Security Resource Officer, Daniel Vaughn, according to one FPS official.

Megan Hedge, board chair of the school’s PTA, said she and many others will miss the “beloved” Vaughn, who served his last days at FPS this week.

“Officer Dan has been with FPS for the past six years, and has always gone above and beyond to help students, parents and staff,” she said.

“The school is happy that he will be able to live closer to his family by moving to Florida, but he will be dearly missed.”
