Farragut High School Class of 2021’s 466 members crossed the stage Sunday evening, June 6, for the school’s commencement exercises on Bill Clabo Field.

Sprinkles of rain did not dampen the smiles, many hugs and triumphs celebrated: art teacher Wendie Love named Excellence in Teaching Award winner, students receiving U.S. Air Force Academy appointments and scholarships that will be used.

Just before the tossing of the caps, principal Dr. John Bartlett warned students the diploma folders they held would be empty.

“This has all been a big joke … see you in August,” he announced but added their diplomas actually were waiting for them to pick up in the school’s weight room.
