Two-Dimensional Art Show in Farragut June 26-27
Town of Farragut’s Arts and Beautification Committee’s Inaugural Two-Dimensional Art Show is set from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 26, and from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, June 27, in Farragut Community Center, 239 Jamestowne Blvd.
Entries currently are being sought by Town officials.
“The first public event in the community center since COVID,” said Brittany Spencer, Farragut Special Event and Program coordinator.
With a “two-dimensional art” theme, artists can submit up to five pieces.
Categories for submission are printing; painting: encompassing oil, acrylic and watercolor; drawing: encompassing pencil, ink, charcoal, pastel, chalk, etc.; mixed media and junior category for artists ages 17 and under. Prizes include Best in Show: $250; first place in each category, $200; second place, $125. Third place, $75; and People’s Choice, $100.
Public admission is free while fees to participate are are $15 each for the first three submissions and $10 each for the fourth and fifth submissions, with a maximum of five. “All artwork needs to be ready to hang on art screens with rubber-coated clips or s-hooks,” Spencer said.
Artists can register to participate at townoffarragut.org/register. She said artists must submit online or by bringing a paper copy to Farragut Community Center. They can apply online at https://townoffarragut.recdesk.com/Community/Program/Detail?programId=758 and payment is due at the time of submission.
“They can also pick up a copy of the application at the community center if they do not have access to a printer,” Spencer added.
