RCF wins big at District
RCF took home first place in the Electronic Club Bulletin Award of Excellence, as well as the following: STAR Club, Globe Club, William T. Sergeant Polio Eradicator Club, YES Award, Mexico 100 in 100 Project Partner and District Governor Citation with Distinction.
“It’s great,” said RCF president Edward Jones, who was joined by president-elect, the Rev. David Bluford, who was set to take over as RCF president Wednesday, June 30. “Even though we had an unusual year, we worked hard this year,” Jones added. “We weren’t looking for an award, but we’re glad to be recognized.”
Patty Daughtrey received a special district governor award for serving as this year’s top District Secretary, and Staci Wilkerson was recognized as a District Leadership Academy graduate.
Rotary Clubs are starting a new fiscal year with the theme, “Rotary Opens Opportunities.”
June 26 also marked the changing of the guard for district leaders, as 2020-21 district governor Ron Appuhn presented the governor pin to 2021-22 district governor, Cindy Gammons.
“… The pandemic did not stop us,” she said in a speech to the gathering. “We found ways to step up and open opportunities.”
