Granite Depot opens

Granite Depot of Turkey Creek opened its fourth location, 406 Lovell Road next to Arby’s restaurant, Monday, June 28, bringing stone tile services closer to Farragut.

Headquartered in Maryville, the company also has locations at Crossroads off Maynardville Pike and Johnson City.

“I like this location a lot,” said sales agent Summer Eden, a Farragut resident who is joined by office manager Daryn Kerr. “This is going to have the most beautiful showroom.”

The company sells and installs granite, quartz, marble, soapstone and agate — “any natural stone,” Eden said. They can be installed on countertops, backsplashes, floors, walls, sinks and shower stall walls.

“We do love doing the full-height backsplash, which is from the kitchen countertop, up the wall to the cabinets that would be above,” Eden added. “There is no job too small, there is no job too big.

”We will tear off the existing countertops, or you can have someone else do it,” noting there is an additional charge to tear out an existing countertop.

Sinks come in copper, granite, glass, ceramic, cast iron and siltstone.

“Customers can purchase faucets through us as well,” Eden said, but pointed out, “We don’t hook up plumbing.”

The shop carries full-size slabs to small samples of stones.

“We will bring in materials that we keep in stock. We can bring in materials that a customer wants to see,” Eden said. “We will have samples of materials that we don’t keep in stock but (ones) customers are interested in, especially the high-priced quartz.

“We start with the basics, seeing what the customer really needs,” she added.

“Even between granite and quartz, there is such a huge difference in the care and maintenance, so we will start with the question, ‘what do you need out of your countertop?’”

Simplifying things, “We are just a sales office here to get people closer options and make their lives a little bit easier as well,” Eden said.

The owner/founder, Roman Kochin, decided to open a showroom along Lovell Road because “it’s a very good location,’ she said. “There’re not a lot of in-area granite shops around here.”

While Eden described the Lovell Road location as a sales office, she said, “It gives people the opportunity to look at the things we can offer, the things that we can do.

“We just opened this location, but soon we’re going to have all the countertops and cabinets here, and it feels like it will be a great opportunity for people of Farragut so they don’t have to drive 30 minutes or more to just look,” Eden added.

Granite Depot is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday; from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturdays; and closed Sunday. Walk-ins are welcome.
