Knox ‘Reward’ honorees at FIS, HVES, NES
The State of Tennessee released designations honoring nine elementary schools in Knox County this year as “Reward” schools — three in the Farragut area.
Farragut Intermediate, Hardin Valley Elementary and Northshore Elementary each earned the Reward designation, which “recognizes schools that are improving in terms of achievement and growth for all students and student groups,” a Knox County Schools press release stated.
“The 2020-21 school year was extremely challenging due to the disruptions caused by COVID-19,” KCS superintendent Bob Thomas said.
“Educators and students across the district have worked incredibly hard to mitigate the effects of the pandemic, and I am very pleased that these nine schools were recognized for their efforts.”
