Cedar Springs marks 225 years

One of Knoxville’s most historic congregations, Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church, is celebrating its 225th anniversary all next week.

The church was founded in 1796, the same year Tennessee became a state.

Events begin with worship services starting at 8:15 and 11 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 24, titled “Looking Back at God’s Faithfulness.”

Other events that day include a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Cedar Springs’ 225 Year Congregational Memoir (in the Welcome Center at 9:45 a.m.) and a special night of worship (on the campus ballfield beginning at 6 p.m.).

Monday, Oct. 25, through Friday, Oct. 29, Cedar Springs will host numerous historic tours, history presentations and a campus open house. Details on days and times for all events can be found at https://cspc.net/225-years/
