A quick-serve restaurant, everbowl is providing a healthier food option to the Farragut and West Knox County communities at 10909 Parkside Drive in Earth Fare Shopping Center in Turkey Creek.

“We actually create super food bowls,” said Marcedes Schindler, director of operations for the Knoxville franchise of the San Diego-based company. “Our bases are frozen, and they are served like ice cream; however, we are far from ice cream.

“Our flavors are amazing,” she added. “We have eight different bases, and they are nutrient-dense, so they are very healthy for you as a meal replacement – breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack or dessert.

“All of our bases are non-dairy and vegan. We are also gluten-free. Each base has its purpose as to why we created it.

For example, “the acai bowl, which is probably the most popular, is really great for your red blood cells and blood pressure, and it also has a fat-reducing component as well,” Schindler said.

“There are so many people looking for healthy options to eat nowadays, and this is a really great choice for any meal,” she added. “It’s definitely better than driving through a fast-food place then feeling guilty about what you’ve eaten. We call this ‘guilt-free’ bowls.”

Starting with the bases, a customer can layer their bowls any way they want, adding granola, oatmeal or chia pudding; peanut or almond butter; choices of fruit including bananas, apples, pineapple, kiwi, blueberries and strawberries; plus coconut, fresh cacao and other add-ons.

While acai berries have become popular at similar businesses, Schindler said everbowl stands out because “we created a proprietary base that you can’t get anywhere else.

“We also created some coffees — three different flavors — that you can’t get anywhere else either,” she added. “Those coffees have an acai component to it and some other healthy components as well, so they are super fuel coffees.”

The store had a grand opening event Thursday, Oct. 21, then officially opened Friday, Oct. 22. During the grand opening, it gave away 300 free bowls.

“It’s going great,” Schindler said. “We had a very good reception from the neighborhood and from area businesses.

“We’re really proud of being part of the Turkey Creek community and the Farragut community. This is our second store in Knoxville. Our first store is in Western Plaza shopping center, which opened Oct. 1. The owners have brought me on to open several stores in the Southeast.”

Schindler said the owners, Scott and Alana Sorensen, live in San Diego, but Alana grew up in Knoxville and her family still is in Knoxville, “so they decided to open a company in Knoxville.”

“Everbowl is very popular in San Diego, and they wanted to bring this really wonderful food here,” she added.

The store is open from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. For more information, call 865-386-8386 or visit its website at everbowl.com or visit its Instagram page at everbowl Knoxville.
