West Under 40 hosts shopping trip for children in need
Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce’s West Under 40 Committee is hosting a shopping trip for underprivileged children, “Presents for a Purpose,” from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, at Target in Turkey Creek.
Volunteers will be shopping for families and children being served by ChildHelp Knoxville, which assists victims of abuse and neglect from infancy through adolescence.
While FWKCC is working with ChildHelp Knoxville collectively — and is asking for businesses or individuals to “adopt” specific children or families or bring unwrapped toys to this year’s FWKCC Dec. 7 holiday open house — the West Under 40 committee is separately planning this shopping trip to help fill wishlists prior to the holiday rush and “put forth a volunteer effort as a group for a good cause this holiday season,” committee vice chair Jared Butler said.
“Meet us at the grocery entrance of Target at 4 p.m., join a team, grab a wishlist and go find the items,” he added. “When your team is done, you’ll connect with ChildHelp to have to have them purchase the gifts at checkout.
“Donations are not required but are always appreciated.”
Pre-registration is not mandatory, but it is encouraged. The process may be completed at https://farragutchamber.chambermaster.com/eventregistration/register/6508
