• Why couldn’t the Town of Farragut have kept Virtue Road open all the way through for one week after the main part was re-opened?
My neighbor had a natural gas leak in their front yard when a contractor hit the gas line. It took KUB over an hour to get through Concord Road traffic to turn the gas off and fix the leak. Several houses could have been destroyed and lives lost.
This stubborn adherence to road construction schedules could have be altered by one week. But no, road construction means more than public safety.
It was bad enough that Virtue Road was closed while Concord Road was under construction. What does the Town do? They pave the detour road McFee Road. The excuses given don’t hold water. This was not competent, caring government. People’s safety should have been the priority. Sadly, it wasn’t.
