Heritage Investors ‘hosts a tree’ to help local foster families
Heritage Investors, a registered investment advisor at 10641 Deerbrook Drive off Parkside Drive, is reaching out to the community to help foster children through Compassion Closet.
The firm has placed a Christmas tree, adorning it with ornaments featuring needs to be met by CC.
“This is our second year doing a officewide and communitywide collection for the Compassion Closet,” said April Damron, HI public relations coordinator. “The Compassion Closet is a non-profit here in East Tennessee that serves families in the foster system.
“Our owners, Justin and Emily Goodbread, have a huge heart and passion for the foster care system and adoption, and this is one way they have found we can support the adopted families, especially here in East Tennessee, and give resources to them,” she added. “There are other offices and churches that host a tree during the holiday time, so we just decided that was something we wanted to do here in the office.
“A lot of times, foster parents will get a call and get a placement for a child, and they may not have the basic necessities or even just things for kids of that age – things like socks or pajamas, games or clothes.
If they don’t have the necessary items, “They are able to come to the Compassion Closet, show they’ve got this placement and are able to get the items they need for that child’s placement,” Damron said. “What we’ve done is called ‘host a tree.’”
While the Compassion Closet has several offices, this year the items will go to the Farragut office, 11020 Kingston Pike Suite 270. For more information, call 865-690-1155.
