Bank robbery; accidental gunfire at Kohl’s
Two scary incidents, one criminal and one accidental, happened within two days in Farragut.
First Citizens Bank robbery
For the second time in as many weeks, a white male pedestrian bank robber — still on the loose as of press deadline — struck West Knox County, this time in Farragut.
First Citizens Bank, 100 S. Campbell Station Road, was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash shortly before 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17.
The suspect — described as standing between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet in height, wearing a mask, a dark Rocawear shirt, New Balance shoes and a dark ball cap — passed a note to a teller, received the cash, then escaped on foot in an unknown direction.
First Horizon Bank, 324 N. Cedar Bluff Road, was robbed of an undisclosed amount Monday, Dec. 6, by a suspect of similar appearance who also left the bank site on foot without being captured.
Knox County Sheriff’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are jointly working on the case, according to KCSO Communications director Kimberly Glenn.
