A new motto has popped up in connection with Second Annual Farragut Health & Wellness Fair in Farragut Community Center, 239 Jamestowne Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 8: “Lend A Hand, Save A Life”
How critical is this opportunity? “Did you know that each year nearly 350,000 people suffer cardiac arrest outside of a hospital and only 8 to 10 percent of cardiac arrest victims survive?” according to a press release from ActFast-CPR, which is hosting a CPR and AED class during the Fair from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
However, “When bystander CPR is performed before EMS arrives, survival rates increase 200,” the release added.
