Housing market topic of FWKCC Speaker Series
Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce is welcoming back its popular Breakfast Speaker Series of programs in person.
The first in the series — “Housing ... Forecast for Farragut, West Knox & Beyond!” — will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18, in Rothchild Catering & Conference Center, 8807 Kingston Pike in West Knoxville.
Julie Blaylock, FWKCC president/CEO, said the program, sponsored by The Knox Fox Real Estate Group, will feature a moderated panel giving a focused forecast on the housing landscape for Farragut and beyond for 2022.
“I’m very excited (about the program) from the Chamber’s perspective and a homeowner perspective,” she said. “It’s relevant to all of us.
“After a volatile period of soaring prices, low inventory and a dearth of relocations to the area, many residents and employers want to know what ‘exactly’ is next for 2022 and 2023,” Blaylock added.
The panel first will zoom in on Farragut, but then will venture out to talk about Knoxville, Knox County and the East Tennessee region.
“As the market has gotten so compeititive, people here are looking for different housing options,” she said.
At the same time, there has been an influx of newcomers to the Farragut area.
“It’s been such a roller coaster,” Blaylock said. “We’re going to look at what 2022 is going to look like.
“While none of us have a crystal ball, we do have panelists with a lot of experience,” she added.
Panelists for the program include: Nick McBride, Knox County Register of Deeds; Hancen Sale, Governmental Affairs & Policy director at Knoxville Area Association of Realtors; and John Cook, president of Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville and owner/president of Cook Bros. Homes.
Moderator will be Alan Williams, who recently retired as news anchor from WVLT-TV.
Cost for the tickets are $30 for Chamber members, $40 for non-members, $15 for students and $275 for a table of 10.
To purchase tickets, visit the Chamber’s website, farragutchamber.com and click on events.
Presenting sponsors also include the Town of Farragut and Knox County government, and the media sponsor is farragutpress. Blaylock said sponsorships still are available at several levels, as are individual tickets and tables of 10, including full breakfast, networking, program and a question-and-answer segment.
