Top Spartans scorers held in check: 63-50
KNOXVILLE — Holding Webb School’s top two scorers to a combined eight points told the story in Catholic’s 63-50 region road win Friday, Jan. 28.
“We took it personal, like the match-up with them,” said Blue Cain, KCHS junior wing who scored 18. The Irish (19-3, 4-0) were led by senior UT signee B.J. Edwards’ 22 points
“I like our defensive intensity,” KCHS head coach Mike Hutchens said, including Cain, adding the junior “made some plays that helped us maintain the lead” in the third quarter.
“We just got beat by a better team tonight,” Spartans coach Ricky Norris said. Sophomore wing Markeis Barrett and junior post John Tolsma each scored 14 for Webb (18-3, 1-2).
