Indoor Track state sweep for HVA
JOHNSON CITY — Sweeping Tennessee State High School Indoor Track & Field Championships at ETSU Sunday, Feb. 6, marks the 11th and 12th Hardin Valley Academy state titles in either track and field or cross country in school history (back to 2008) — all under head coach Bryan Brown.
The Lady Hawks’ 89-31 state title edge versus runner-up GPS of Chattanooga was led by senior Sydney Stanton’s first-place finishes in the long jump (5.49 meters) and triple jump (11.41).
Hardin Valley’s boys also won convincingly, 89-31 versus runner-up Franklin Road Academy, led by senior Ben Smith’s win in the triple jump (13.22 meters).
