‘Hire a lawyer’ anti-KCS mask mandate protest set
Kimberlie Parks and Andrea Pfisterer, two moms whose children attend Farragut schools, have organized a “peaceful” protest concerning Knox County School’s mask mandate. It will start at 7 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28, along West End Avenue.
They are advocating allowing Knox County Board of Education to hire its own attorney to fight the current Federal school mandate.
“This is a peaceful protest and we expect everyone to be on their best behavior,” Parks said.
Both have been working quietly behind the scenes to help lift the mask mandate Knox County Schools have been under since late September, and instead are advocating for making masking optional, a measure the Board of Education approved as the 2021-22 school year began.
Public parking will be located to the left in West End Shopping Center by Clean Eats.
