‘Journey’ for FHS boys soccer a learning curve
Heading into the final week of the regular season, Farragut High School’s boys’ soccer team was 4-7-2 overall, 1-1-1 in District 4-3A.
Head coach Bradley Culbreth knew coming into the season his team would have a learning curve.
“The story of our season has included some injuries and a lot of new players learning to play with each other,” he said. “We lost 11 seniors from last year. Our overall growth and maturity has been a journey, but we like where we are.
“Junior Jack Bukovitz has played good defense for us and is learning his role at leading this team,” Culbreth added. “It has been hard mentally for the players, but we are learning about ourselves and about each other that helps us all outside of sports.”
Despite the ups and downs, Culbreth expressed confidence about his team’s postseason chances.
“The postseason outlook will be the same as always,” he said. “The deeper you get, the harder the competition is. We plan and expect to win in May and represent East Tennessee at the state tournament.
