• Robin Harp recently joined FirstBank as a relationship manager in the Knoxville market. She has experience working within local banks. She is a member of Halls Business and Professionals Association, Halls Crossroads Women’s League and an officer in Acaia-May Order of the Eastern Star.
• Jack Dongarra, computer science professor in University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Tickle College of Engineering and research staff member at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, recently was awarded the 2021 A. M. Turing Award from the Association of Computing Machinery. Dongarra, an innovator in computational software, is being honored for his pioneering contributions, which have helped pave the way for high-performance computing’s evolution over the past 40 years.
• University of Tennessee associate professor Neelam Chandra Poudyal received a 2022-23 Fulbright Scholar
Award recently. This fall, Poudyal will visit the Institute of Forestry, Pokhara campus of Tribhuvan University in Nepal to collaborate with the faculty of Wildlife and Protected Area Management to conduct research on sustaining human-wildlife co-existence.
