In preparation for upcoming Tennessee Department of Transportation’s plans to pave Kingston Pike through Farragut — from Lovell Road to the Loudon County line — workers from Whaley Construction recently began sidewalk improvements. Whaley employee Jorge Zamudio, center, operates a jack hammer while a backhoe rips out sidewalk panels that are not Americans With Disabilities Act compliant. Ben White, Town Capital Operations manager, said 73 sidewalk ramps will be constructed by TDOT as part of the project, which he estimated would take “several months.”
