I was concerned about the amount of business vacancy in Farragut. The Kroger center has two or three vacant spaces; the center beside Ingles has a lot of vacant space. The restaurant going in beside Starbucks has been vacant — nothing’s has happened for months. I wonder what the problem is in Farragut? It’s good that we’re having a Mayoral race and an Alderman race (two seats). We need more business-friendly procedures and policies in Farragut. I don’t think businesses really want to come to Farragut because of the red tape and bureaucracy. We need leadership that really goes to bat to get businesses in Farragut. We have had a lot of vacancies for years, actually. So something needs to change.
