Sept. 30 deadline: K-Pike repaving
Tennessee Department of Transportation began a project to repave Kingston Pike (State Route 1) from Pellissippi Parkway to Watt Road earlier this month. The contractor is required to finish the project by Sept. 30.
Work will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, and from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., Friday and Saturday. Motorists are advised to use caution around construction workers and be aware of milled surfaces and uneven lanes.
Installation of Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant sidewalk curb ramps are under way in conjunction with road improvements. A total of 79 ramps will be installed or corrected.
