Rial opens Lilac Nails in Saah Salon
“I specialize in nail art,” Rial said. “I have three different amazing pedicures that, if I could do for myself, I would love.”
She does her art freehand, whether it be Old English letters or any art found on Pinterest.
“I don’t have any stickers or stencils,” Rial said.
“All my pedicures come with hot stones, and I have a jelly pedicure that I think people who love sensory stuff would really like,” she added. “It’s very relaxing.”
Additionally, Rial gives a hot oil manicure with regular and gel polishes, as well as a new service, jelly tips, where the tip is glued on with gel polish.
“It’s a faster, easier service (than acrylic nails) when you’re in a hurry,” she said.
Her interest in art reaches back to high school.
“I made straight A’s in art class,” Rial recalled. “I loved it so much. But once I graduated, my dad asked me what I wanted to do when I got out of school.”
College did not appeal to her, and she didn’t see a career in art.
“What I didn’t realize was nails was my hobby,” Rial said. “I painted them; I did nail art all the time. I just didn’t realize it until he mentioned it to me.”
From the time she graduated from Tennessee School of Beauty, “I’ve always wanted to have my own business,” Rial said. “Once I got my license, I wanted to open immediately.”
However, she worked at three salons for two years combined before venturing out on her own.
“I wanted to build my experience there,” Rial said. “I’m glad I did because I know a lot more now than I did when I left school.”
However, “after the third place that I worked at, I knew ... that it was now or never,” she said. “I just wanted to bite the bullet and do it.”
A Maryville resident, Rial found a location in Farragut because “I felt like you have more opportunities here,” she said. “There’s a lot of room to grow here, too.”
