Cheek, farragutpress earn TPA 1st-Place Biz Section honor
Under the direction of general assignment reporter Tammy Cheek, farragutpress earned a First Place Tennessee Press Association award for Best Business Section among Group III competitors (2021) — as judged by Indiana Press Association — which was announced at the annual TPA Awards Banquet in Nashville Friday, Aug. 26.
This is Cheek’s second TPA first-place award, having also earned a No. 1 statewide finish for Best Feature Photo in 2019.
“We are proud of what Tammy has accomplished — and doing so against some daily publications in Group III,” Alan Sloan, farragutpress editor, said.
“Other contributors to this first-place award were reporter Michelle Hollenhead and our production manager Tony Christen and graphic designer Cindy Wilfert.”
The paper also earned a TPA Group III fourth place finish for Best Sports Section.
