Moved up a few weeks, FPS Fall Festival set for Oct. 1

Farragut Primary School’s annual Fall Festival is being held earlier this year, but organizers and sponsors are promising even more food, fun and festivities than ever before.

Sponsored by the school’s Parent Teacher Organization, the event, held in previous years near the end of October, will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, both inside the school and on school grounds, 509 N. Campbell Station Road.

It is the PTO’s largest fundraiser, offering games, inflatables, a silent auction, a raffle, bake sale, a performance by second-graders and crafts for students and their family members.

“It’s so early this year because we try to look at the football schedule (mainly University of Tennessee Football) to avoid mass conflicts, although we know we can’t avoid everything with kids’ sports schedules too,” FPS PTO president Megan Wood said.

While the Festival itself is free to attend, wristbands are being sold for $15 each in advance, giving those attending unlimited access to all the planned attractions, including four large inflatables, carnival games, arts and crafts and photos with FPS’s dolphin mascot, Finley.

However, the wristband will not include food sold at the event. Chick-fil-A and concessions will be sold separately. Wristbands are only being offered online in advance by visiting www.fpspto.org by Thursday, Sept. 29.

“Urban Air is a sponsor who will be giving basic passes for the first 300 wristbands sold during our pre-sale event,” Wood said. The day of the event, festival-goers who did not buy wristbands may choose to purchase punch cards for $10, which will be good for 10 events each.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the bake sale may sign up on the FPS PTO Facebook page or at fallfestbakesale@fpspto.org.
