Art Fest
About 750 children and their families enjoyed the creative process when Farragut Arts and Beautification Committee presented Art Fest on the grounds of Farragut Community Center, 239 Jamestowne Blvd., Sunday, Sept. 18.
“Art Fest was amazing,” Town Recreation and Event manager Merritt Piper said. “It was great to see children having fun and showcasing their
creativity.”
The event consisted of nine craft stations, where children could make visors, paint from an easel or do squirt gun art, dauber stamping, blow art, spin art and more. They displayed their art on hanging wires.
“We received a lot of feedback from parents and children,” Piper said. “One man stated he loved that the event brought so many aspects of the community together — Town employees, Town committee members, volunteers and participants.
“He and his family enjoyed the event so much, he asked how he could get involved with events in the future,” she added.
“This is fun,” said Shirin Pagels, a mother of four. “It’s nice the community does this kind of stuff.”
