Watercolor artist offers personalized crests
The business, Simply Jessica Marie, offers an array of colorful and creative personalized products, fully taking advantage of Peddicord’s myriad artistic talents, which are firmly under the “Grandmillenial” umbrella, bringing to the forefront old-fashioned styles and prints.
“My business began out of my love for creating thoughtful gifts for others,” said Peddicord, who also is an advocate for “thoughtful, intentional décor.”
On her website, she states, “Your home should tell a story. Fill your shelves with floral mugs that remind you of your grandma. Have a stash of stir sticks and tea towels ready to bring out when friends come over for dessert; and adorn your walls with artwork that transports you to your mom’s garden, your aunt’s china cabinet or your favorite city.”
Peddicord fulfills those very suggestions in her shop, offering seasonal, holiday and gift products that include mugs, stationary, notepads, greeting cards, tea towels, hats, pillows, candles, coasters, gift tags and pictures ready for framing, each rich with watercolor-based designs.
In recent years, Peddicord branched out into offering personalized crest options — her Crest Bar — to which she added 10 original designs earlier this year.
She said the concept of the Crest Bar is similar to that of a cocktail bar, offering many styles, colors, options and icons.
Personalized crests themselves are “modern interpretations of the family crests of Europe, on which we put our playful stamp,” said Peddicord, noting her sister, Julia Clinch of Atlanta, works with her on business’ marketing, public relatinos and design.

Originally launched in April 2019 and re-established in 2021, Simply Jessica Marie’s Crest Bar offers more than 200 one-of-a-kind crests along with more than 100 pet, travel, hobby and vocation icons.
