• The American Academy of Nursing officially will name four distinguished experts — Dr. Paul Farmer, MD., PhD. (in memoriam); Carolyn Jones, BS, DFA (honorary), FAEN (honorary); U.S. Rep. Bennie G. Thompson; and Bei Wu, PhD. — as Honorary Fellows at the Academy’s Health Policy Conference, Oct. 27-29 in Washington, D.C. These individuals have demonstrated extraordinary and sustained contributions to health care throughout their careers.
• University of Tennessee Medical Center’s Cole Center for Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders recently was selected to join the Parkinson’s Foundation Global Care Network as a comprehensive care center, which symbolizes leadership in providing high-quality Parkinson’s care.
• Patriot Investment Management was recognized by Financial Advisor magazine as the 260th largest Registered Investment Advisory firm in the country by assets under management.

• Four University of Tennessee faculty members — Joshua Fu, Mark Littman, Hanno Weitering and Deb Welsh — recently were honored as the new class of Chancellor’s Professors at UT.
The designation honors extraordinary scholarly attainment in an individual discipline or field and a record of excellence in teaching and service.
• A longstanding relationship between Eastman and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville grew, as leaders recently dedicated the Eastman Innovation Center and outlined joint initiatives that could have far-reaching economic and environmental impact.
The center expands an existing research relationship, as UT has been a member of the Eastman Innovation Network of higher education partners since 2015. Eastman will maintain a consistent campus presence, with scientists rotating through its Knoxville space to focus on research proposals from UT research teams of faculty and students.
