Freaky Friday Fright Nite set
Little ghosts, witches and scarecrows, get ready.
Town of Farragut will be hosting it annual Freaky Friday Fright Nite from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, at Mayor Bob Leonard Park, 301 Watt Road.
The event is free and open to the public; however, participants are encouraged to bring items to benefit Ronald McDonald House.
“If the weather is good, there could be over 2,000 in attendance,” Farragut communications manager Wendy Smith said. “Even if it rains, the crowd could be over 1,000.
“Our vendor sign-up is already full with over 30 booths, and we will also have our usual games and cookie decorating,” she added. This year’s event also will feature food trucks.
“Freaky Friday is definitely a highlight of the year for the Parks & Rec staff, as well as the community,” Smith said. “Everybody loves dressing up and seeing everyone else in costume, so it would be fun even without the candy.
“The good news is that there’s candy, plus games and cookie decorating,” she added. “Another great thing about this event is that the Farragut community is always generous with donations to the Ronald McDonald House. Please remember to bring a donation this year.”
Suggested items include: individually wrapped snacks such as crackers, nuts, granola bars, chips; small pudding, applesauce or Jell-o cups; air freshener sprays; Lysol or any disinfectant sprays; 8.5-by-11-inch copy paper, postage stamps, packing tape and Sharpie markers; LED light bulbs and LED 25-watt small-base candelabra bulbs; individual packets of coffee creamer and sugar, disposable coffee cups; dishwasher detergent; pump-style hand soap; and gift cards such as Walmart, Target, Food City, Kroger, Lowe’s, Home Depot, ACE Hardware, gas stations or phone cards. Cash donations also are accepted.
