Six-peat at state for CAK boys golf

SEVIERVILLE — Christian Academy of Knoxville’s boys golf did it again — make it six straight TSSAA state championships for the Warriors, who edged Division II-A runner-up Battle Ground Academy (303-307) after 36 holes Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 3-4, at Sevierville Golf Club.

Cooper Russell, individual runner-up after a playoff, led CAK (+3, 147), followed by teammates Bryson White (tied for sixth, 151), Blake Russell 11th (154) and Tanner Varney, tied for 16th (158).

Other top finishes

The CAK girls took fifth in Division II-A, led by Grady Thomas and Isabella Coughlin, who tied for 11th (159).

Knoxville Catholic’s girls finished sixth in Division II-AA: Victoria Tampas. 17th, and Isabella Zigrossi, 19th.
