• Tellico Lake agent Brian Kincaid II recently won the Big Wave Award while Barbara Park won the Aqua Award at Lake Homes Realty’s National Agent Summit for Exceptional Achievements in Real Estate. Big Wave Award is given to agents with a total transaction volume between $10 million and $25 million with 40 or more transition sides with a total transaction volume of $6 million or greater between Sept. 1, 2021, and Aug. 31, 2022.

• Heath Shuler, former star quarterback for UT Vols Football, and his son, Navy, are hosting a “Meet and Greet with Heath and Navy Shuler,” with help from Bacon & Co. and Alumni Hall, to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Tennessee Valley from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20 at Alumni Hall, 11309 Parkside Drive in Turkey Creek.

• SmartBank recently announced a $50,000 donation to charitable organizations throughout the company’s footprint across the Southeast. Among those organizations, Smoky Mountain Area Rescue received $10,000.

• Spectrum recently was awarded a Tennessee Emergency Broadband Fund-American Rescue Plan grant of more than $2.9 million to bring gigabit high-speed Internet access to nearly 1,000 homes and small businesses in Loudon County. Combined with the state grant of more than $2.9 million and more than $2.2 million in funding from Spectrum, the total project investment is nearly $5.2 million.

• Cherokee Lake agent Jim Williams recently was honored with the Aqua Award for his achievements in real estate at Lake Homes Realty’s 9th annual National Agent Summit.• The Chef’s Workshop is launching a three-week West Knoxville Food Truck Rally series from 4 to 7 p.m., beginning Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Shoreline Church, 9635 Westland Drive.

This week features: Penne For Your Thoughts; Smoked Pickle Barbecue; B’s Bites; Blank Slate Knox; Good Hombres Tacos, Tortas & More; Gonzo Gourmet; Kennedy Grill; and Smiley Swirl.

According to organizers, festivities include “plenty of seating,” children’s activities, music and fire pits. Additional dates will be Oct. 26 and Nov. 2.
