CAK boys, Webb girls 2nd at state
HENDERSONVILLE — Making a serious charge toward winning a TSSAA Division II-A boys cross country state championship, Christian Academy of Knoxville placed three runners in the top 14 — two in the top seven — while capturing second as a team at the Sanders Ferry Park course Friday, Nov. 4.
Junior Joshua Cross earned fourth place (16:53.24), followed by senior Ethan Coffey taking seventh (17:22.60) and Warrior senior Walker Douglass finishing 14th (18:06.01).
Among the Division II-AA girls field, Webb School of Knoxville state runner-up Anna Graves, a junior (18:49.90), fourth-place finisher Calysta Garmer, a freshman (19:06.38), and her twin sister, Jazzlyn Garmer, who earned 10th (19:51.61), led the Lady Spartans to a second-place team state finish (98, Harpeth Hall champs at 51) on the same course Thursday, Nov. 3.
Meanwhile, Knoxville Catholic’s girls placed fifth as a team, led by senior Kaylee Ethridge’s 19th-place showing (20:22.25).
Farragut, Hardin Valley Academy girls
While Hardin Valley Academy junior Maddie Archdale finished 12th in the Division I-AAA girls meet (19:16.99, as HVA was ninth as a team), Farragut finished fifth, led by senior Kennedy Reynolds’ 36th-place showing. This meet was Friday, Nov. 4.
