Farragut High School football had four players and one coach earn Tennessee Football Coaches Association All-State Team honors, as released last week.
Geoff Courtney, Admirals offensive coordinator, was selected Assistant Coach of the Year in Division I-Class 6A.
A former Farragut standout reciever/defensive back, “He gameplans real well,” resulting in “an explosive yet balanced attack,” said FHS head coach Eddie Courtney, Geoff’s boss and father.
Players chosen included senior kicker/punter Reese Keeney, a Tennessee Titans Mr. Football finalist (among three statewide) who also was named All-State by Tennessee Sports Writers Association.
Other players chosen were senior Ashton Auker, a receiver/kickoff returner, senior quarterback Luke Johnson and junior linebacker Jack Alley.
“Just to be recognized among the best in the state comes from a lot of hard work,” Eddie Courtney said about his four player honorees. “These guys are recognized, not just because they’re gifted athletes, but because of all the work they do in all areas to make sure they perform at a high level.”
