Mayfield confirms Lady Ads win vs. HHS ‘biggest’ of season

With agreement from head coach Jason Mayfield, the Farragut Lady Admirals’ 41-38 home win against District 4-4A power Heritage gets a thumbs-up as the “biggest” win of the 2022-23 season.

“I think that’s right,” said Mayfield, whose team improved to 6-3 in 4-4A, 18-9 overall with a chance to be a No. 2 seed.

“I think this is our biggest win of the season,” said Annie Priest, sophomore guard. “We really executed offensively.”

“It’s definitely a big win; it puts us in a better place for the postseason,” said Annalise Bishop, senior guard who scored seven against Heritage (7-2 in district).

KJ McNealy, an FHS freshman wing, led her team in scoring with 14 points.

“I just think we had a lot more focus in terms of what we needed to do to prepare and what we needed to learn from our loss against them (53-50 at HHS),” said senior wing Maelyn McNealy, who scored 10. “It was really all about learning from our mistakes and capitalizing on their’s.

“We were a lot more patient and a lot more wiling to share the ball and attack the gaps,” she added. “Especially Annalise over here, doing a great job of being our leader at the point, being patient and knowing how to get the ball moving and making the right plays.”

Defensively, “We really locked in and we were focused,” Bishop said.
