KNOXVILLE — Six of the top seven school finishes during the Knox-area Interscholastic Swim League Middle School “City Meet” Jan. 27-28 were Farragut-area teams.
A close second behind meet champ Maryville (488) was West Valley Middle (426), followed by Webb School of Knoxville in third (372), Hardin Valley Middle taking fourth (356), Farragut Middle capturing fifth (338.50), Concord Christian School finishing sixth (318) and Catholic Youth earning seventh (248.50).
Individual, relay first-place finishes locally
First-place individual swimming finishes came from Landon Hall of CCS in the boys 50-yard backstroke (meet record of :26.46); Miles Roth of WVMS in the boys 50-butterfly (meet record of 24.82, with Landon of CCS just .01 seconds behind); Edward Zhao, FMS eighth-grader, in the boys 100-IM (1:04.49); Harper Dickson of WVMS in the girls 50-freestyle (:26.35); AB Curtis, Webb seventh-grader, in the girls 200-free (2:01.94); Sam Steger of CCS in the boys 50-breastroke (:32.64); Efrosini Kerny, Catholic Youth eighth-grader, in the girls 50-breaststroke (:32.32); and Graham Ella of WVMS in the boys 50-free (:24.79).
Relay wins came from the CCS boys foursome of Jackson Kuhn, Sam, Garrett Roberts and Landon in the boys 200-free relay (1:40.47); Landon, Sam, Jackson and Garrett also took first for the Lions in the 200-medley relay (1:52.42). The Webb quartet of Dixon Hamilton, Amelia W. Greer, Sam Kowalski and AB was first in the mixed 200-free relay (1:45.18).
Diving champ
In boys 1-meter diving, Garrett Bailey of WVMS was champion (241.65).
