Eckles as Val, Hulbert as Sal set for CCS Class of ’23
Concord Christian School’s high school principal Nathan Pifer has announced the 2023 senior class valedictorian and salutatorian as Army Eckles and Allison Hulbert, respectively.
“Valedictorian and Salutatorian ranking is based on the cumulative weighted grade-point average to the nearest hundredth of a point,” Pifer said. “Both of these students have worked very hard and deserve this moment.
“We are so proud of their accomplishments and they help represent an outstanding 2023 senior class.”
Army Eckles
Eckles has a 4.55 GPA, scored a 34 on his ACT and has been accepted to both the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Honors Leadership Program and the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, Honors College Brock Scholars program — but is undecided on his destination.
Wherever he decides, Eckles plans to major in chemical engineering.
While at CCS, he was a four-year starter, captain and all-district selection for the men’s soccer team.
Eckles is an alumnus of Youth Leadership Knoxville, ia National Merit Commended Scholar and AP Scholar with Distinction and a member and served as executive vice president of the school’s National Honor Society chapter.
Additionally, Eckles is a charter member of National Spanish Honor Society and works as an assistant coach for ACTPrep.com. He also was a two-year football letterman at Christian Academy of Knoxville (a two-school cooperative; no CCS football program).
Allison Hulbert
Hulbert has a 4.49 GPA, scored a 33 on her ACT and is planning to attend UTC, where she will major in exercise science with plans to pursue a career in physical therapy.
She has been CCS Key Club treasurer and had memberships in both the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society, and was co-captain of the CCS Science Olympiad Team.
Hulbert attends Shoreline Church, where she is active in the high school ministry and volunteers in the children’s ministry.
