State wrestling finds nine locals; CAK’s Etherton 5th in Div. II
Five locals, including the Farragut pair of seniors Aidan Enters (170 pound class) and Zach Martin (182), have earned a trip to the TSSAA Division II-AA Wrestling State Tournament this weekend (Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 23-25) at the Williamson County Expo Center in Franklin.

Meanwhile, at the Division II State Tournament last weekend at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, senior Eli Etherton of Christian Academy of Knoxville finished fifth in the 182 class.

Enters (29-3) was runner-up at the Section 1 meet at Bearden High School Saturday, Feb. 18, while Martin (20-4) was among four locals each finishing third in Sectional: sophomore Brock Connaster (42-4) of Hardin Valley Academy (113), sophomore Jacob Laws (32-12) of HVA (126) and senior Jason Alverez (13-4) of Bearden.
Girls state tourney: four locals
Qualifying for the girls state tournament this weekend, also at the Williamson County Expo Center, are four locals, led by two-time defending state champion Ella Murphey of HVA, a junior, in the 185-pound class.
Also competing at 185 is Farragut sophomore Sarah Jones.
In the 126 class, sophomore Taylor Clifford of Bearden qualified, as did Rebecca Deyo, a junior from Knoxville Catholic, at 185.
