Sharma led to 35 North

A new owner has taken over 35 North, 11321 Kingston Pike, on the corner of Kingston Pike and North Campbell Station Road and anticipates opening the food service business in mid-May.

“I’m pretty excited about it,” said Knox County resident Vinit Sharma, who recently purchased 35 North. “I hope our Town will love it, given all the businesses and banks … for those happy hours and meetings.”

The name of the business will remain the same.

“I like the name,” he said. “And, I live very close so I love the place.

“It’s a key location,” Sharma added. “At the same time, it is very new and the interior is fabulous.”

About the format of the business, “We are keeping everything the same, but what we are doing is putting a kitchen in to bring consistency in the food,” the new owner said.

“We are in the process of the kitchen design,” he added. “We are shooting for around graduation day (between May 2 and May 30) if everything goes according to our plan.”

Along with favorite beers and liquors, the new 35 North will be serving Americana upscale bar foods, such as candied bacon, deviled eggs, smoked salmon dip crostini, barbecued nachos, Boursin cheese, bison burgers with mushrooms, duck burgers and Nashville hot chicken sandwiches.

In addition to the culinary additions, 35 North will entertain with an open mike, karaoke and live music, Sharma said.

As one of the owners of Iron Works & Grill in Tellico Plains, he brings his knowledge of the restaurant business. “So when the opportunity came, I thought it’s a good location and decided I should work on (the purchase),” Sharma said.

“So far, we have the kitchen design ready,” he added. “We’ve got our beer permit. We are looking for some feedback from the (Town) office.”
