‘Posies for the Pantry’ sale at FPC April 22
Fifth Annual “Posies for the Pantry” plant sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 22 — rain or shine — at Farragut Presbyterian Church, 209 Jamestowne Blvd.
Proceeds benefit Shepherd of Hope Food Pantry, which is located next door in Faith Lutheran Church, 225 Jamestowne Blvd., but also is supported financially and with volunteers from FPC, Concord United Methodist Church, Grassy Valley Baptist and First Baptist Concord.
In addition to live plants and flowers for sale, children’s crafts will be offered. The “Urban Table” food truck from Abundance Life Catering program of Knox Area Rescue Ministry will be selling breakfast and lunch items, according to Betty Nicholls, FPC member and publicity chair for Posies for the Pantry.
Vendors will include: Pope’s “The Junction,” Tennessee Naturescapes, Erin’s Meadow Herb Farm, Champion Dayliles, Hummercarver, Bound & Determined, Wreaths Galore & More, 123Dotts-garden aprons, totes, etc. and Bargain Shed.
“This year pantry volunteers will be on hand to discuss the workings of the pantry and will display the food items that are distributed to the pantry guests the first and third Monday of each month, which are the days the pantry is open,” Nicholls added. “The pantry has seen an increase in the number of guests and is serving almost 200 families in need each month.”
