Ads rebound
Through Farragut baseball’s first 22 games (17-5), which ran through Saturday, April 15 — rebounding with three wins following a tough 8-6 home loss to rival and District 4-4A foe Hardin Valley Academy Wednesday, April 12 (see story beginning on the left) — team statistical leaders were recognized.
Batting average leaders were Lukas Buckner .478 (junior shortstop); Gavin Brewer .383 (junior catcher); and Landis Davila .373 (junior outfielder).
Other top averages were Brennon Seigler .366 (junior outfielder), Mark Underwood .361 (senior outfielder); Jake Merrick .333 (junior second baseman); Eli Evans .311 (junior infielder); Ellis Gleed .304 (senior pitcher); and Michael Delph .298 (junior pitcher).
Homerun leaders are Merrick (five), Davila (four) and Evans (four). RBI Leaders were Merrick (24), Buckner (17), Jett Johnston (16, senior infielder) and Seigler (15).
Stolen base leaders were Seigler (seven) and Lukas Buckner (five).
Top batter for last week (April 10-15) was Davila, who hit .533 (eight for 15) with two doubles, one home run, five RBIs and a .611 on-base percentage.
The Ads (4-3 in 4-4A play), swept Combine, North Carolina at home 8-7 and 3-1 Friday and Saturday, April 14-15, then beat CAK 11-5 Saturday.
