Varma is KCS valedictorian
Kiran Denny Varma is valedictorian for Knoxville Christian School’s Class of 2023, which graduated Saturday, May 6, in West End Church of Christ.
He spoke during the ceremonies. The son of Venu and Laurie Varma, this senior had a grade-point average of 4.37 among six graduates.
While at KCS, Varma has been involved with basketball, soccer, National Honors Society and Student Government.
“I would like to thank Mr. Rosario for coaching the soccer team, Ms. Scruggs for being the mother at school and Mr. Lenox for how he taught Bible class,” he said.
His favorite quote is “To infinity and beyond!” by Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story,” and his favorite Bible verse is, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made,” Psalms 139:14.
Varma will be attending University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where he plans to major in biology and minor in business.
