• At 12:59 a.m., Sunday, June 11, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputy, along with another KCSO unit, responded to 11220 Outlet Drive (Cotton Eyed Joe) in reference to a vandalism involving a patron of the business. CEJ security advised officers a shirtless white male left in a silver Chevrolet Cruze bearing a Kentucky license plate. “I located the suspect’s vehicle on I-40 East near the Bridgewater Road exit and came into contact with the passenger (suspect),” the report stated.
“The suspect said he got into an argument with Cotton Eyed Joe security regarding him taking his shirt off in the establishment. The suspect admitted to punching and breaking a window on the exterior of the business while leaving. Officers did observe injuries to the suspect’s knuckles consistent with punching an object,” the report further stated. An official spoke with a Cotton Eyed Joe official (complainant), who said the damaged window was valued at $200. Complainant said he wished to pursue charges for vandalism against the suspect.
• At 5:12 p.m., Thursday, June 8, a complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report a vehicular burglary from Aldi, 170 Brooklawn St. Complainant said an unknown suspect stole a handgun from his 2011 BMW 3SU with an estimated value listed at $700. Complainant said he remembers locking his vehicle, but there were no signs of forced entry.
• At 3:46 p.m., June 8, a complainant called KCSO North Precinct to report fraud, false pretense, at a Kingston Pike address. Complainant advised she was at work when she received a phone call from the suspect advising he was with Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.
Complainant said she received a text saying it was from Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. She was told she missed a court appearance and would need to pay $3,000.
“She advised she went to CVS and got three MoneyPak cards for $500 on each card,” the report stated. “She gave the suspect the numbers off of the cards. She was on her way to get more cards at Kroger when she thought this might be a scam. She called her husband and he advised her it was a scam. Total amount the victim is out is $1,500.”
• At 12:33 a.m., Wednesday, June 7, a complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report a theft in the Emergency Room of Tennova Turkey Creek Medical Center, 10820 Parkside Drive. Complainant said her purse and its contents were stolen. Total value of loss was $200.
• At 5:37 p.m., Monday, June 5, a complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report a theft of services at Great Clips, 11657B Parkside Drive. Complainant said the suspect, after receiving a haircut and beard trim, sat down in the lobby for a moment and then left out the door without paying. Total value of loss was $27.
