Adding Rental to Real Estate for Farragut’s Landes family
Yvonnca Landes, principal owner, along with husband, David Landes, and daughter, Adrienne Landes, have partnered to launch their home-based business, Turning Knox Rental. They currently are grooming their son, Jaden, to join the business.
Launched on Nov. 30, 2022, Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce welcomed the business as a member with a ribbon cutting Wednesday, June 28.
“They have been wonderful from day one,” Yvonnca said of FWKCC’s staff, noting they have “been a Godsend to us because they have recommended us, they have told us different companies to link up with and call on, just to showcase our businesses.”
Turning Knox Rental provides rental of selfie photo stations and 360-degree video booths, on which a customer stands on a circular platform and a 360 video camera circles the person, capturing different angles.
“We apply music to (the 360 video) for your event,” she said. “There’s an overlay (so) you can customize your event, so every time someone opens that video, the video captures that event.
“You can share them on social media,” Yvonnca added. “You can text and e-mail them directly to yourself so you can get them printed, if you like, in the future.”
The company also rents hot dog, snow cone, popcorn and nacho machines, as well as fog machines and a mobile, portable movie theater experience that can be brought to the customer’s home or event venue.
“We have games Vacation Bible Schools and other organizations use to bring kids together,” Yvonnca said. Those include “life-size” Connect Fours or Jenga’s, which are gaming systems.
Additionally, if someone wanted to give a business presentation, TKR has a portable system on which companies can do Power Point and other presentations at any location, she said.
“We also have spin wheels and raffle wheels,” Adrienne added.
“I love it,” Yvonnca added about the new business.
The Landeses, a “real estate family” with The Landes Team with Realty Executives, has been in the community for 25 years doing real estate and appraisals.
However, “we just wanted to do a business outside of real estate,” Yvonnca said.
“The biggest thing was we wanted to bring memories, videos and pictures (to customers),” she added.
At the same time, “we wanted to bring entertainment to different events that would be lasting a lifetime,” Yvonnca said.
She remembered, as a child, her grandmother, Sophronia Davis, “always told me to take pictures of different things when I was a kid. She said, ‘it would always give you a memory,’”
TKR is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, but customers can contact the Landeses
after hours at their website. For more information
