• At 8:05 a.m., Monday, July 10, a complainant called Knox County Sheriff’s Office Teleserve Unit to report a burglary to his vehicle at a Hughland Drive residence. Complainant advised an unknown suspect entered the locked 2018 Ford F-150 pick-up truck by breaking the back driver’s window and taking various items. Total value of loss was listed at $1,140.
• At 10:47 a.m., Friday, July 7, a complainant called KCSO West Precinct to report an attempted vehicle theft at a South Williamsburg Drive address. Complainant advised “the unknown suspect(s) gained access to his locked 2020 KIA Soul by busting out the driver rear window,” the report stated. Complainant said his steering column plastic cover was taken off along with the ignition switch being popped out. Total value of loss/damage was listed at $400.
• At 10:29 a.m., Wednesday, July 5, a victim reported the theft of a motorcycle. Victim reported she saw a motorcycle the suspect was selling on Facebook Marketplace and inquired about it. On Saturday, June 30, they made a deal to trade the victim’s motorcycle (black 2007 COOL RS 200) for the suspect’s motorcycle. At 5 p.m., Saturday, July 1, the victim met the suspect at the TA truck stop, 615 Watt Road, where the victim traded her motorcycle and title for the suspect’s motorcycle.
Suspect did not have a title for his motorcycle. Victim discovered the Vin number had been painted over. She sanded the paint off to read the number, and being suspicious called Meigs County Sheriff’s Office to check and see if it was stolen. It was determined to be stolen out of Campbell County, which is where the suspect lives. MCSO recovered the motorcycle. Victim made several attempts to contact the suspect but had negative results. Victim’s motorcycle was valued at about $2,300.
