FHS Band fundraiser set for this Saturday
For a group focused on constant movement, Farragut High School’s Marching Admirals band also is cognizant of the need for good rest, too.
With that in mind, the group is hosting its inaugural Mattress Fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, July 29, in the FHS Commons.
“We are raising money for instruments, travel and day-to-day costs that require upward of $40,000,” stated information from the FHS Band Boosters. “The mattresses are custom made to order, factory fresh and delivered within two to three weeks of purchase to customers’ homes.”
Mattress costs begin at $199, and sizes available include twin, full, queen and king.
More than 25 styles will be on display from which to choose, and financing is available.
Additional items offered include pillows, bed linens, mattress pad protectors and bean bags. Each purchase made supports the band program.
The group is working with Custom Fundraising Solutions of Chattanooga on the project.
Band Booster member Andrea King, who’s daughter, Scarlett King, is a rising junior in the band program, said the group decided to try something a little different to help raise funds this year.
“I really didn’t like the idea of the kids having to sell items out in the community, and we didn’t want to spend money out of pocket up front, so we found this option,” said King, who is vice president of fund-raising.
