District 6 rep set to lead Knox Board-Ed
HARDIN VALLEY — Representing District 6 since December 2020, which includes Hardin Valley kindergarten through 12th-grade schools, Betsy Henderson has been named Knox County Board of Education chair.
A Hardin Valley resident with her husband, Scott Henderson, and their two children, Logan and Molly, this family has at least one tie to Farragut: they attend Farragut Presbyterian Church.
A Blount County native and University of Tennessee, Knoxville graduate, “Before becoming a mom, I worked in Washington D.C.; I moved there seven days after Sept. 11 (2001) because I wanted to help make a difference,” the new chair stated on her website. “I worked for two Republican Congressmen, John Duncan and Connie Mack.
“While I enjoyed my time, I am glad to be home in East Tennessee,” she added.
In addition to representing Hardin Valley Elementary School, Hardin Valley Middle School and Hardin Valley Academy, Henderson also represents Amherst Elementary; Ball Camp Elementary, Karns Elementary, Karns Middle, Karns High, Mill Creek Elementary, Northwest Middle, Norwood Elementary and Pleasant Ridge Elementary School.
