• BarberMcMurry Architects has named Kristin B. Colwell, RID, NCIDQ, WELL AP, as its new studio manager, and Drew Newman, AIA, LEED AP, as its new digital practice manager.
Colwell, who has been with BarberMcMurry for nine years, is an associate, senior interior designer and project manager. She has been integrally involved in studio initiatives related to building information modeling, as well as sustainable design, and she is a tnAchieves mentor.
Newman, an associate, worked for BarberMcMurry from 2015 to 2017 and rejoined the firm in 2022. He has been a core member of BMA initiatives related to BIM project delivery methods and design process. Newman serves on the State BIM Committee and the board of directors of AIA East Tennessee.
Additionally, he is a member of Young Professionals of Knoxville, Society for College and University Planning and volunteers as a head coach for Farragut Baseball Inc.
• Rylie McClurg recently was promoted to Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs’ deputy communications director.
McClurg comes to the mayor’s office from Engineering & Public Works, where she’s been serving as the communications and outreach coordinator.
• Tennova Healthcare • North Knoxville Medical Center recently announced the addition of obstetrician and gynecologist, Jaime Riley, B.A., D.O., to the Women’s Service team and Dr. Lekshmi Seemanthini, interventional cardiologist, MPH, FACC, FSCAI, to the Tennova Heart team.
Riley will practice at the Multispecialty Suite, 7557B Dannaher Drive, Suite 225, Powell.
Seemanthini brings special expertise in cardiac catheterization, angioplasty and PCI/Coronary stent placement.
