• Has it ever been considered to build a community swimming pool? Know it is expensive to build and maintain, but I would rather see money spent on that rather than $5.5 million on land out in the middle of nowhere.
A nominal fee could be charged per person, if necessary, to help with costs. Lifeguards would be nice, but one could swim at their own risk. Perhaps the pool could be used for swim meets. Each team would pay a fee. Revenue would be raised by these families eating in our restaurants and staying in our hotels.
Just a thought. …
• I read the article “Sept. 25 meeting: will reflect citizen interest in McFee $5.5 million cost?”
The questions asked by the four residents to the (Town) leaders were simple questions and should have been answered that night as promised. I don’t see how any study was needed to answer those questions. This isn’t the first time this has happened and it is a bad look for the Town.
Is it true that the purchase agreement for the land on McFee has been signed? The farragutpress reported only about a letter of credit in (a) June 28 article “A McFee state of mind for Town.”
Please look into this.
Editor’s Note: Whether or not to finalize and make official the $5.5 million land purchase along McFee Road apparently will be decided at the Thursday, Oct. 26, Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting.
